I’ve been working on Guardia 2 throughout this year, and the anticipation to launch this project has only grown stronger. I've raised the bar in every aspect of what I’ve done before—miniature quality, building details, the number of props, and more—but I’ve also decided to add new elements to this upcoming campaign.
It doesn’t seem feasible for someone to print a piece—or even an entire campaign—and use it only a few times in their life. I’ve seen RPG players and game masters put so much effort into creating their campaigns, meticulously painting the pieces, and personalizing them in so many ways that I felt the need to keep them alive on my backers' game tables.
That’s why I’m launching this new phase of my work, where I’ll periodically add more content to the Kingdom of Guardia I’ve already created, including events, updates to previously released buildings, new characters, settings, and more.
For months, I’ve been thinking about how to make this work, and I’ve concluded that releasing periodic packs, similar to a Patreon-style model, would allow me to maintain my production line for the larger Kickstarter campaigns, while also enabling me to create these smaller monthly releases, alongside bigger quarterly launches, with a Kickstarter campaign every six months.
We'll start testing all of this with the adventure book that I'll be including in Guardia 2 in the coming months: an epic campaign set in the new upcoming buildings -- the Windmill, the Chapel, the Keep, and a few other locations that I'm keeping under wraps for now --.
This will be the first release of the Guardia lore, and will include everything a full RPG campaign should have, and much more - expect not only the adventure story, but a deep description of places, characters, and dozens of items I'll add to this adventure.
If it works, I'll use the monthly releases to populate the lore of Guardia and add side quests and smaller events to both Guardia 2 and the original Guardia release.
There’s a lot at stake, and the hours invested in this project have been no small task! I’m very eager to see how you, my dear backers, will receive this new phase of my work.
I dream of creating this vast, immersive world for Guardia, with stories that hold deep and true meaning, and that keep the pieces alive and relevant on your RPG table. While I can't share all the details of what's to come yet, enjoy these screenshots of today's work - some internal details of the kitchen in the Keep of Guardia!
See you soon!
This is fantastic count me in!
